Sam O'Brien
Hi, I'm Sam! I was born and raised in Tracy, California, but I have been living in Seattle for 4 years. I recently graduated from the University of Washington with a B.S. Human-Centered Design and Engineering with a focus in Human-Computer Interaction. I am a UX designer and researcher with a focus on Human-Computer Interaction. I am interested in creating meaningful products with teams that are working on solutions for difficult problems in our world. I contribute my knowledge of interaction design, UX design, and web development to the teams that I am a part of. Currently, I am teaching myself how to use Unity 3D and Blender. I have a huge interest in creating Virtual and Augmented Reality applications and games to create unique solutions to problems in the world, and I have ambitions to use VR to help with adolescent learning. I feel that design is the best way for me to be able to directly improve the lives of people in this world, and I am eager to find a role where my passion for UX can change the world.
In my free time I love to play music and maintain my salt water aquarium. I love designing solutions to problems that I encounter in my aquarium on a college budget, and I currently have over 40 different species of coral. I live to listen to and play music. I have been playing the piano for 15 years, and I can not walk for 5 minutes without popping in my headphones. I also am a huge chess nerd, and often play chess with my friends or online over the weekends. |
